What this tool changes
A signature is mostly white space, so file size is driven by the paper texture and shadows. We flatten the image onto a clean white background and tune the quality until the size sits inside the range.
Common upload problems
- The paper looks grey or shadowed
- Retake the photo in daylight with the phone directly above the paper, avoiding your own shadow.
- The signature looks too small in the frame
- Crop tightly around the strokes before uploading so the signature fills the picture.

Frequently asked questions
- Can I draw the signature on my phone instead?
- You can, but most portals ask for a scan of a signature made on paper, so a photograph of real ink is safer.
- JPG or PNG for a signature upload?
- Follow your notice. When it says JPG/JPEG, use the JPG produced here.
