FileReady

Compress Image to a Custom KB Size

Type the exact size limit written in your application notice — for example 35 KB or 300 KB — and we will produce the sharpest image that still fits inside it.

Choose your file

Pick from your files or gallery. You can also drag a file here.

Required size

We create the highest-quality file possible within this limit.

Required dimensions (optional)

Only if your form states pixel sizes. We crop from the centre — the image is never stretched.

Private by design. This tool runs entirely inside your browser — your file is never uploaded to us or to any other server. How this works

  • No signup
  • Free to use
  • Processed in your browser
  • No watermark

What this tool produces

  • Works with JPG, JPEG, PNG, WebP and most photos taken on a phone.
  • Output is JPG, the format almost every Indian portal accepts.
  • You can also set a minimum size when the form asks for a range.
  • Supports JPG, JPEG, PNG, WebP and other image formats your browser can open. iPhone HEIC files must be shared as JPG first.

How to use this tool

  1. Choose your image from your files, gallery or camera.
  2. Enter the maximum size your form allows, in KB.
  3. Press Prepare image and wait a moment.
  4. Check the result size, then download the JPG.

What this tool changes

We keep every pixel of your picture and reduce only the amount of detail stored inside the file, testing dozens of quality levels to find the best one that fits your limit. If a limit is too small for the picture's size, we also reduce the pixel dimensions instead of failing.

Common upload problems

The portal still says the file is too big
Some portals count the limit as 50,000 bytes rather than 50 KB. Set the limit one or two KB lower and try again.
The image looks soft after compressing
A very small limit forces detail out of the file. Crop away empty background first — fewer pixels means more quality for the same size.

Frequently asked questions

Is my image uploaded to a server?
No. The compression runs inside your browser on this page, so the image never leaves your device.
Will there be a watermark?
No. The downloaded file contains only your image.
